Our Story

Founded by passion and purpose, Gulf of Mexico Ike Jime was born in Surfside Beach, TX by a determined husband and wife.

 

Capt. Anthony's roots begin in the Spanish Mediterranean and spawn to the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. University of Houston Alum, 100 ton US Coast Guard licensed captain and passed his series 7 the first attempt; he knows his way around a cockpit and a wirehouse..  Alyssa was raised on the southern coast of Texas. With a little bit of Irish, a little bit of Cajun and a whole lot of red hair there are not many challenges she will not face head on.   

 

Determined, Independent, and never settling for less is something the two of them share in common. After a failed attempt with a center console that was only permitted to catch and sell pelagic species, they quickly learned that the world of 'seafood' is not a pleasant one and together they made a goal to change it.

After almost a decade of planning, networking, building and strategizing,  Gulf of Mexico Ike Jime was born.  

There are three elements that GOMIJ seeks to improve - Quality and ethics of fish handling, Quality of work environment, and transparent and fair distribution..
